Stanley Edward Simmons, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at McVean Lodge, Hanover on Friday, December 22, 2017. He was 97.

Stanley was born on September 20, 1920 in Toronto to the late Elizabeth and Herbert Simmons. Stanley was employed with Hydro One after returning from service in the Air Force in WWII. Stan will also be remembered for his involvement with the local Power Squadron where he served as a Commander for a period of time.

Survived by sister in law Rosemary Simmons and nine nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by his great nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents and siblings, John, William, Ruth and Dorothy.

To honour his wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place. 

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
