Brenda Marie Newton, of Hanover, passed away after a courageous battle with her illness peacefully surrounded by her family at SBGHC-Walkerton, Brockton on Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was 59.
Born on October 10, 1958 to the late Jim and Irene (nee Schumacher) Yaeck in Walkerton. Brenda worked for the CIBC in Walkerton, Hanover and Chesley branches. She then moved to the Saugeen Credit Union as a Supervisor right up until her personal leave. Brenda had a warm smile and was a natural leader. She was involved with so many organizations including Girl Guides, Meals on Wheels, Light on Main, the Hanover & District Hospital Auxiliary with their gift shop as well as the Durham Chamber of Commerce, where she was Past Treasurer. Her smile and infectious helpfulness delighted everyone. She took the time to volunteer and help others in any way she could.
Survived by loving husband Bill Newton of Hanover. Loved mother of Mark (Sarah) Newton of Kincardine, Matthew (Christine) Newton of Walkerton and Laura (Robert McIntosh) of Hanover. She delighted in her grandchildren and doted on them whenever she could. Missing their grandma are Natalie, Kendra, John, Liam, Andrew and Cameron. Dear sister of Ken (Debbie) Yaeck of London as well as her special nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and her sister Sharon Keip.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm, at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Walkerton. Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating. Spring Interment in Walkerton Cemetery, Walkerton.
