Gerald “Gerry” Kittel of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Sunday, October 29^th, 2017.  He was 90.

Born July 13^th, 1927 in New Dundee, Ontario to the late Herb and Wilhelmenia (nee Kroesch) Kittel. Gerry was a School Trustee with the Grey Bruce Separate School Board until his retirement, a member of Holy Family Church in Hanover and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survived by a loving wife Catherine “Caye” Kittel (nee McKinley) Kittel of Walkerton.  Loved father of Paul Kittel of Kincardine, Mike (Pam) Kittel of Walkerton, only daughter Teresa (Tom) Crawford of Meaford, Jamie Kittel and twins Tim (Anne) Kittel of Kincardine and Tom (Cheryl) Kittel of Walkerton. Proud grandfather of Michelle, Scott, Lesa, Heather, Leigh, Nicholas, Katelyn, Kory, Ryan, Ethan, Ben, Louis and Leah. Also survived by brothers Ken (Maureen) Kittel of New Hamburg, Bob (Marion) Kittel of Kitchener and sister Delores O’Hara of London. Predeceased by his sister Rita Turgotte and brother in law Brian O’Hara.

We feel so blessed to have had such a gentle, generous and loving man in our lives.  It makes it hard to say goodbye.

Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the Hanover Hospital for their excellent care. Also to the Community Care Workers, for their attentive support and to the helpful, caring staff at the Sprucewood Lodge.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover on Wednesday November 1, from 2-4 and 7-8:30 pm with Vigil Rites at 8:30pm.

A Funeral Mass of Celebration will be held on Thursday November 2, at 10:30 am., at Holy Family Church, Hanover.  Father Gary Schlack officiating.  Cremation has taken place with inurnment at a later date.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as an expressions of sympathy.
