Arnold William Wedow, of Elmwood, passed away surrounded by his family at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Thursday, February 27, 2025 in his 79th year.

Born in Hanover on April 21, 1946 to the late Herman and Rosetta (nee Gateman) Wedow. Arnold was employed with Klemmer Lumber for over 51 years and enjoyed working in the bush. Many people would have purchased their campfire wood off the end of his driveway in Elmwood and loved to see his smile.

Survived by son Brad (Rebecca) Wedow, daughters Lynn (Mike) Hahn both of Hanover and Shelly Wedow-Whitton (Darwin) of Stayner, Jennifer (Marco)  Guidotti of Fergus and Sandra Cook of Mount Forest.  Dear grandfather of Jillian, Breanna, Abby, Amanda, Jordan, Dylan, Callie, Amella, Severide, and Natalia.

Predeceased by his wife Fern, good friend Joan Zettler, brothers Nelson (Florence) and Orlie, sister Hazel Dent and grandson Brad Jr.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 2-5pm. Spring Funeral Service and Burial details will be announced at a later date. Interment in Elmwood United Cemetery.  Pastor Lyndsay McGregor officiating. Pallbearers will be Doug Hamel, Paul Dent, Mike Hahn, Pat Schmidt, John Amaral and Derek Draper.

Memorial donations to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca

I was shocked when I heard about the passing of Arnie. I enjoyed our weekly talks and will miss seeing him sitting in his garage. I considered him a friend. I am sending my deepest condolences to all of Arnie's family. Treasure your memories and hold them close to your heart.
