Public Condolences

To Doug, Judy, and families I send my deepest condolences.
You don't live far away,
You're only a memory away,
Each time I come to a corner,
You're just supposed to be there,
As the song goes, "I'm not really gone, just gone on before".
God has grand plans, Amen.
Our families came together in Exeter Ontario,
George and Helen Braithwaite and Jim and Doris Edwards, moved to Walkerton, to develop and enhance, Canada Packers, it was actually little more than a storefront at the time.
I was 4 years old, so I'm guessing 1955. I was sure we had dropped off the face of the earth, except for the Braithwaite Family, George, Helen, Doug, Carolyn, and Judy.
George and Helen and family settled into his family farm near Hanover, and we lived in Walkerton.
That friend/ work relationship lasted for years. Visits to the farm, were many, at least once a month, maybe more, where drinks of warm milk in the barn, playing the over game something with a ball on the roof, Carolyn playing the piano, me pretending to sing and dance like Elvis Presley, and Helen's home-cooked meals, topped it all off.
Know it or not you guys were kind of the flag pole, the stay, if you will, in a great big World for that little 4-year-old.
Sending Love and prayers to you all. Diane Edwards Anger.

I just found out about Helen's passing. I knew Helen from church and also from growing up across the street from her and "uncle" George as I called him. They were dear sweet neighbors. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Judy, Bob, Doug, Donna & John and families: my deepest condolences to you all on the passing of my dear Aunt Helen. She was my favorite aunt and I have so many fond memories of spending time with her and Uncle George at the farm and then later at their house in town. She was warm and kind, generous with her time, and a perfect hostess. She was also a true servant of God and I am sure she is in the express line in heaven. Jean (Mackey) Kashman

I have fond memories of her laugh and sense of humour, she was a "spitfire"!. She was generous, kind and giving. What a wonderful life she had that touched so many.
Unfortunately, I can't attend the service but my thoughts will be with you. - Jim
