Beatrice "Bea" Margaret Mitchell, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was 73.
Born in Kincardine on May 23, 1951 to the late Bill and Noreen (nee Baird) Colwell. Better known as "Bea" to her friends, she was the epitome of a kind generous soul. She had a love and gentle nature about her and taking care of others ran deep in her soul. She loved her career as a PSW with Red Cross and Brucelea Haven in Walkerton and made many lasting friendships both with colleagues and residents.... but her favorite job of all was being grandma.
Survived by devoted husband Ramon of Hanover. Loved mother of Helen Gordan (Matthew Walter), Alison (Cliff) Broadfoot, Juanita Mitchell, Donna (Robert) Tycquet, Jason (Connie) Mitchell and Troy Mitchell. Special grandma of many grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she adored and spoiled rotten. Remembered by her brother David (Delores) Colwell and their children Randy (Jackie) Colwell and Rob (Megan) Colwell. Predeceased by her parents, step mother Ellen Colwell, her foster parents Gordon (Helen) Neilly and beloved son Troy Mitchell.
To honour her wishes, cremation has taken place. A come and go celebration of her life will be held in May 2025 with more details to follow. An inurnment of her ashes will be held in the spring in Sanctuary Park, Port Elgin.
Memorial donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
