Glenn Wilson

Glenn Wilson

Glenn Frederick Wilson, of Elmwood, passed away suddenly at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, December 13, 2024.  He was 70.

Born in Toronto on February 24, 1954 to the late Clinton and Winnifred (nee McMullen) Wilson. Glenn enjoyed a good hot coffee at the Hanover Tim Hortons and will be missed by not only the "girls" but the group of friends cherished there as well as when he would go to his "McDonald's Group" for their share of catching up and just enjoying everyone’s company. In the summer, he enjoyed hitting the links at various golf courses and of course being surrounded by family and friends as well as enjoying all types of woodworking.

Survived by loving children Christopher, Shannon, Shawna (Yohann) and Kayla Wilson. Loved brother of Phillip (Michelle) Wilson of Toronto. Predeceased by his wife Debbie (nee Peart), who predeceased him just this past April, his parents and by his brother Bruce Wilson.

To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration in the spring at his home by the Saugeen River, of which he loved so much, will be held.

Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca

Glenn and I worked together for a number of years and managed to share many a good laugh. One of Glenn's roles besides banging on tin he wore the hat of Health & Safety rep . This is a position he took seriously and did it well. After I retired we would chat regularly on the phone keeping each other abreast of our goings-on. We both enjoyed woodworking and often discussed our current projects. Glenn always ended the call by saying "say hello to Kathy" Going to miss you buddy ,Rest easy.

I met Glenn years ago when I was an apprentice working in Toronto as a tin banger. Although we only crossed paths a few different times while working I have stopped at Tim's on many occasions since his retirement. He loved his extra large double milk almost as much as he loved his family and reminiscing about past work experiences. My deepest sympathies to his family. Rest in peace my friend and may those ears never stop ringing.

Pre Covid there was a group of us that would get together Monday to Friday mornings to enjoy a round of golf at Buck's Golf Course and many times end up at McDonald's for more chit chat. They were very good times filled with lots of joking around, etc. Glenn had a beautiful piece of property located along the river just south of Crawford. He enjoyed the company of his cats and always had woodworking projects on the go. He will be missed.
