Dennis Ivan Heipel, of Ayton, passed away suddenly at the Hanover and District Hospital on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was 56.
Born in Hanover on February 7, 1968 to Ross and Marilyn (nee Kruger) Heipel. Dennis initially worked as a Machinist, and then had various occupations in the Sales and Automotive Industry. He had a passion for the sport of hockey, and found great fulfillment coaching in West Grey over the years, forming many lasting relationships along the way. However, family always came first for Dennis, and he was a very proud and loving husband, dad, brother, and son. His memory will leave a lasting impact on many, and he will be missed beyond words.
Survived by devoted wife Lori (nee Lerch) Heipel of Ayton. Loved father of Devan (Meadow Jackson) and Logan Heipel both at home. He will be missed by his fur companion and shot gun rider Harley Man. Loved son of Ross and Marilyn Heipel, and parents-in-law Harold and Marilyn Lerch. Dear brother of Kevin (Lisa) Heipel, Barb (Dan) Metzger and Mike (Stacey) Heipel, and brother-in-law Rob Lerch. Special uncle of Ty, Aaron, DJ, Nash and Maeve. Loved by his god-daughter Danielle Kreller, and her sister Katelyn, mother Belinda (and her late husband Randy). Predeceased by his best friend Rob Fidler, and will always be fondly remembered by Rob’s wife Lacey and his mother Cheryl.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held.
Dennis’ family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and genuine gratitude to their many friends and family that have shown their support and love during this incredibly difficult time.
