Vernon Howard Byers, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, May 10, 2024. He was 71.

Born on June 30th, 1952 to the late Anderson and Berneda (nee Kraft) Byers.  Vernon was a man who loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Vern had several jobs throughout his life, bread making for Wittich's and a master drywaller to name a few.  Vernon loved a good game of Bingo and was always up for a drive to get ice cream.

Loved by daughter Tracy (Don) Fizell of Owen Sound and by his son Derek Byers of Hanover. Dearly loved grandpa of Trinity, Dominic, Ashton, Maddox and Nick as well as his great granddaughter Brooklyn, who always seemed to put a smile on his face when visiting at the care centre. Vern will be remembered by his siblings Donald Byers, Larry (Marie) Byers and Stephen (Faye) Byers as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, his beloved soul mate Arlene (nee Huber), his sister Joan (Charles) Rintoul, sisters in law Kathy and Gertrude.

To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service held on  Friday,  May 17, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.  Jenn Brown officiating.
