Dorothy (Thea) Herbrink, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at The Village Senior's Community in Hanover on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was 91.
Born Dorothea, in Bladel, Netherlands on August 3, 1932 to the late Petrus and Catharina de Beijer; and Elizabeth de Beijer (Soontiens).
Survived by son Peter of Victoria, B.C, and daughter Dorothy (Bill) of Hanover. Pre-deceased by son Ben of Kitchener. Loved Nana of Robin (Jenn), Michael (Cara), Patrick (Shandi), Christopher (Alishia), Lisa-Marie (Mike), Zachary (Cass), Sean (Shelby), Renee (Jamieson). Great-grandmother of Hayden, Zeiven, Landen, Gabriella, Easten, Theo, Piper, Abigail, Breven (Savannah), Omry (Kaidence), Emmett, Aedan, Lewyn, Sam, Anderson, Frances; and a great-great grandmother to Kali. Remembered by her siblings Frank (Gerda), Rina (John), Gerry, Pete (Pat), Tom (Linda), and Petra (Doug) as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. Remembered by her in-laws Lynn, Diny, and Brian. Predeceased by husband Frank Meyer, friend Oscar Meyer, daughter Mary who died in infancy, and siblings Piet, Toon, Jan, Cees, Joe, Maria and her sister-in-law, Liz.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Church, on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 10-10:45am where a Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
Many will remember Dorothy from her years as a Canada Post Rural Carrier for RR3 and RR4 Hanover.
Memorial donations to the Sick Kids Hospital Toronto or Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
