Lynda Mary Elbert (nee Hartman), of Richmond Hill, passed away peacefully at Meaford Long Term Care, on Friday, January 12, 2024. She was 85.
Born on June 20, 1938, in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late Anthony and Sylvia (nee Kaine) Hartman. Lynda was a dedicated registered nurse for 40 years at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto. Even upon retirement, she continued providing homecare services for another 15 years. Lynda loved camping and had many fond memories of spending time at Camp Kumuntome with family and friends. She always had a soft spot for animals, and over the years has had many cats and dogs and provided them all with the utmost care. Lynda was also an avid reader, and you could often find her with her nose in a good book.
Survived by her children Lawrence ‘Larry’ (Christina ‘Chris’) Elbert of Hanover and Fay Elbert of Richmond Hill. Grandma of Larry Jr., Jeremy and Ben, and Great Grandma to Colton. Dear sister of Anthony ‘Tony’ (Chalor ‘Cheb’) Hartman of Niagara Falls, NY, and sister Donna Caton (nee Hartman) of Lockport, NY. She will be fondly remembered by many family and friends, and her extended family at Camp Kumuntome. Predeceased by her husband Gabriel ‘Gabe’ in 1983, and her parents.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 5-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11 am, at St. Francis Xavier Church - Carlsruhe. Father Emmanuel Azike officiating. Inurnment in the spring/summer in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario.
