Paula Marie Wiersma (nee McIntee), of Durham, passed away suddenly at the Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest on Monday, October 23, 2023 in her 58th year.
Paula loved traveling, scuba diving and entertaining friends around the fire pit. She had a wicked sense of humor and loved laughing and joking. She was an avid lover of music in all categories and played them all at the same level....LOUD.
Dearly missed by her soul mate Bob of 34 years together and happily married for 26 years. Birth mother of Aleks Saric and forever grateful to his parents Mira and Andy. Loved by her sisters Donna (Shirling) and Elaine (Mallek), twin brother Paul and by her second mom Mary Anne Braun. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Audrey (nee Schacht) McIntee, sister Patricia (Kulscar), Brother Murray (2023), Papa (Evert) and Mamma Bear (Jean) Wiersma and by her beloved cat Shadow (2015)
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 6-7pm where a Service of Remembrance will be held at 7pm. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations to the OVC Pet Trust (https://pettrust.uoguelph.ca/) would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
Deepest sympathy. Paula was a bright light, who will be missed by all who knew her.
Remember when Paula went to catch the baseball and got hit in the mouth twice? Surprised she played swing bowling. Paula turned 57 on Sept. 22. Shocked she died within the two months that her brother and SIL died. Still seems unbelievable. I can't fly in for today for numerous reasons. She died too young. I feel for Bob! He's probably still in shock. May you be blessed and happy now Paula! Love, Elaine
