Robert Berkley Jank, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at his home after a short battle with cancer on Friday, August 25, 2023. He was 86.
Born in Hanover on July 25, 1937.Robert was employed by Knechtel Furniture and Sklar Peppler as their purchasing agent and ended his career as a sales agent with McIntee Real Estate. Bob was a permanent site holder at Blue Water Park in Wiarton for over 40 years where so many amazing friendships were made for life and where 5:30am fishing was a must. Thanks to all his Wiarton family for all the wonderful memories. Most importantly Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather as he always told us the real meaning of family.
Survived by his children Deb Smolenaars (Terry Robson) of Hanover and Michael (Sherry) Jank of Bridgenorth. Dear grandpa of Jade (Dante), Amber( Hayden), Brennan, Tarren (Gracie) and Brooke. He will be remembered by his special companion Ev Byers of Hanover. We thank you Ev for bringing Dad a new outlook on life after the passing of our mom, we treasure your friendship. Predeceased by his wife Doris (nee Beresford) Jank (2004).
A special thank you to the Palliative Care Team, specifically Nurse Yurling Zhong "Nurse Yu", with carepartners, who always went above and beyond for our Dad. Your kindness is appreciated.
To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. Inurnment in Hanover Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation were appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
