Franklin ‘Frank’ Mercey, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at his home, on Saturday, May 27, 2023. He was 89.
Born on September 28, 1933, in Hanover, to the late Joseph and Clara Ann (nee Gross) Mercey. Many will remember Frank for his many years of service at the local secondary school, “JDSS”, where he was employed for 25 years or for his two decades of work at the Knechtel Furniture Company. Frank was a dedicated long-time member of the local Knights of Columbus. Family meant everything to Frank. He was a caring and loving family man, who adored spending time with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Survived by loving wife Shirley (nee Weber) Mercey, of Hanover. Dear father of Janice of P.E.I., Richard (Heather) of Long Point, Stuart (Kathryn) of Orangeville, Rob (Nancy) of Uxbridge, and Jason (Nicolina) of Beamsville. Cherished Grandpa of Alexandra (Mike), Eric (Rebecca), Jaxon (Andrea), Alyse (Patrick), Ben, Angelica, Serenity, and Great Grandpa of Quinn, Cole and Aurora. Predeceased by his siblings Madeline, Helen, Harold, Wilfred, Alvin, and Adrian.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Church, Hanover, on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 10-10:45 am, where a funeral mass will follow at 11 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover. Father Romelito Guillen officiating. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
