Wanda Gladys Strickland, of Hanover, passed away at Chapman House Residential Hospice, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. She was 69.
Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, on April 3, 1954, to the late Walter and Cora (nee Smith) Smith. Wanda worked at many different locations over several years, in office administration roles. Many may remember her as a thoughtful, caring and dedicated nanny - she was a caregiver for many different children for many different households, forging many lasting relationships along the way. Wanda also loved her hobbies of sewing, knitting, quilting, and crafts, and you could see this passion in her many creations.
Survived by loving husband Raymond "Ray" Strickland of Hanover. Fondly remembered by her sister Ida Dean of Port Hope, and brothers Clayton (Ann) Smith, Wayne (Karla) Smith, and Nelson (Michelle Marquis) Smith, all of New Brunswick, as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families. Predeceased by her parents, sister Audrey Smith, brothers Sheldon and Byron Smith, and brother-in-law Leslie Dean.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 6-9 pm, where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 11 am. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
