How do you ever say goodbye to a special friend that you’ve known since kindergarten? Eric Hallman has peacefully headed out for one last Corvette tour guided with support, compassion and much love from Sherry and their three daughters Ericka, Alanda and Sada who he loved dearly.
Eric was an honest and generous man who had a kind word for everyone. He asked for very little. Born in Hanover on April 10, 1954 to Harris and Dorothea (nee Boadway) Hallman. Some of his happiest moments were spent at Hallman Motors and Eric will be remembered by his colleagues and many customers always treating them like family.
Survived by devoted wife Sherry (nee Allen) Hallman of Hanover. Dear father of Ericka (Kevin) McKinnon of Milton, Alanda (Corey) Lantz of Hanover and Sada (Sean) Bryant of Neustadt. Cherished papa of Emily McKinnon, Madeline McKinnon, Colton McKinnon, Kaylee Lantz, Ashlynn Lantz, Kye Bryant and Callan Bryant. Brother-in-law Doug (Wendy) Allen and sister-in-law Judy (Herb) Murphy. Uncle Eric to Stephanie (Jack MacDonnell) Hocking, Michelle (Ken) Feddema and Jason (Alyce) Allen. Eric will be sadly missed by his mother Dorothea (Boadway) Hallman of Hanover. Predeceased by his father Harris, brother Larry and grandson Cody Bryant.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Hanover Missionary Church at 11:00 am. Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Eric, your husband, Dad and Grandpa. Very sad indeed. Although as second cousins we barely had any time together, his Dad was my Grandpas brother, whose funeral I attended. I have some fond memories of spending some time at their cottage somewhere near Hanover ♥️♥️

To the Hallman Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss. It is impossible for me to over-state the respect that I have for Eric.
I learned of Eric's passing while in Chesley this past weekend. When I was 16-17 years old in the 70s, I worked at Hallman's as the car wash and gas attendant and any other odd job. Although very busy, Eric never complained when I asked him for help or if he sensed my nervousness with a particular task he had assigned to me. Such was the caring, respectful, and team-based culture he, and his father before that, cultivated. I still remember the competent team he led, Stan, Ken, Barney, and particularly Don (service technician) who taught me many life lessons, which undoubtedly shaped my values and helped me in my own careers in the military and then the House of Commons Administration.
A former US President said “No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.” Rest in peace, Eric. You have much honour.
Dear Sherry and Family. Sincere condolences.

I'm so deeply sorry for your unexpected and tragic loss. To auntie Dot and Sherry and your girls and all the family my heart goes out to you during this most difficult time. Eric and I connected infrequently but he was always one of those people who when we did have the opportunity to reconnect our conversations were instantly warm and welcoming... he was one of those unique, comfortable individuals where the ease of reconnecting made it seem almost as if no time had passed since our last visit.
He was a special cousin and a truly wonderful man.
We can't believe Eric is gone.
Please be assured you are in our thoughts and in our prayers.
