Diana Mae Stewart (nee Scott) passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 81 years of age.
Born in Toronto on October 10, 1941, Diana grew up in the city with her 2 sisters and 3 brothers. She met her husband Hugh Stewart as a teenager and has now gone home to be with her lifelong best friend. She watches over her children Anthony Stewart and his partner Jane Curran, Margaret (Bill) Barker, Sheila Stewart, and Lynda (Charlie) Waechter. Diana is the guardian angel to her grandchildren Erin (Steffon) Smallenbroek, parents of her most precious great granddaughter Lillian, Yvette (Todd) Sparkler, Kris Curran, Rebecca, and Jillian Wedow. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and their families. Predeceased by her beloved husband Hugh and siblings Evelyn, Charles, Gord, Joyce and Butch.
After moving to the Hanover area in 1981, Diana dedicated her life to volunteer work, such as the CWL (over 40 years), Hanover Fall Fair, Guiding, Alzheimer's Walk, but she was especially devoted to the children of Holy Family School where she worked as an Educational Assistant and went above and beyond for many years. After her retirement, she couldn’t stay away and woke up early every morning to run arguably the best Breakfast Club in all Grey Bruce. She will be missed by many whose lives she touched over the past 30+ years at Holy Family.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover on Sunday, October 16, 2022, from 1-4pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 1pm. Cremation to follow with inurnment in Holy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Ontario Student Nutrition Program Grey Bruce (https://www.osnp.ca/) would be appreciated by the family.

Sheila, Linda, Erin and families,
Our sincere sympathy on the passing your mom/ grandma! She was such a dedicated worker. I worked with her many years at Holy Family School as well as CWL functions. I sat beside her at our last CWL meeting. What a shock to hear of her passing. She dedicated her life to helping children right to her last day. What a way to go. God took her home to rest. Remember the good times. Doug and Sheila Long
Diana, Mrs. Stewart as I knew her, was nothing short of an amazing woman. I went to school at Holy Family where she was an educational assistant. She demonstrated a dedication to the students she was working with that was simply unmatched. I soon grew up to be an educator myself and got to witness first hand that, even after retirement, the children were still her passion. She always went out of her way to help others in any way that she could. Diana will be greatly missed by all those who’s lives she touched. Diana and her family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
