Marie Georgina Ashbury, of RR2 Walkerton, passed away peacefully at SBGHC – Durham Hospital, on Monday, August 29, 2022, in her 95th year.
Born on November 24, 1927 to the late Eric and Mabel (nee Lahn) Karlson. Marie was a founding member of the Association for Mentally Challenged Children, in Walkerton. She spent many years visiting and encouraging families. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Walkerton. Many will remember Marie from her years working alongside her beloved late husband Morris, at their business Morry's Trailer Sales. Marie was a very kind lady, and will be missed by many.
Dearly missed by son Charles Ashbury (Sharon Broughton) of Mildmay and their children Michael and Charles, daughter Kristine (Andrew) Corolis of St. Catharines and their children Lindsay, Brittany and William, and son Eric Ashbury of Walkerton and his children Jana and Nicholas, as well as several great grandchildren. Predeceased by husband Morris, daughter Nancy Ashbury, brother Jack Karlson, and sisters Aileen (Bill) Blowes of Waterloo, and Marjorie Heimpel of Stratford.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, September 2, 2022, at 11 am. Rev. Pamela McNeil officiating.
