Kenneth Gilbert Luce, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. He was 88.
Ken was born in North Hatley, Quebec, on March 13, 1934, to the late Norman and Clara (nee Walch) Luce. Ken was a hardworking man, and spent most of his working years employed for 25 years at P&H Foods (Exceldor) in Hanover, and 16 years at Penman's Textiles in Quebec. He also spent a few years working on a dairy farm, where he was well known for his gentle and admirable way with handling animals. Ken always had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. But most of all, Ken loved his family, and was always tickled having young grandchildren to spoil. He will be missed dearly by many.
Dearly loved husband of Hazel Luce of Hanover. Father of Peter (Rita) Luce of New Brunswick, Perry (Patricia) Luce of West Grey, and RoseAnn (Andre) Prudhomme of Thamesford. Cherished grandfather of Jason (Tobi), Crystal (Tom), Kenneth (Emily), Ryan (Alexis), Ian (Jess), and Brittany, as well as 10 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by sister Vivian Howitt. Predeceased by his parents, and brothers Wilfred, Raymond, and Oscar.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 10 - 10:45 am, where a Memorial Celebration of Life will follow at 11 am. Pastor Lyndsay McGregor officiating. A committal service and inurnment will follow on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Moes River Cemetery, Quebec.
Memorial donations to the Launch Pad - Youth Development Programs, in Hanover, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy (https://launchpad.campbraingiving.com/).
Hazel and family,
we send you our deepest condolences as we learned that Ken had passed away. We have many great memories of our times with you and Ken in Hanover in the early seventies. He also helped me at the farm from time to time and was a good friend and a very reliable and dedicated worker. He was always early to start and his word you could count on. Ken will leave a big empty place in your lives. We wish you blessings and comfort.
