DOYLE, Gerald Anthony
December 10, 1948 – July 8, 2022
DOYLE, Gerald Anthony of RR#1 Elmwood passed away peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Centre on Friday, July 8, 2022 with family by his side. He was 73.
With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Dad and Grandfather. Born in Wingham, ON, son of the late Patrick and Rita Doyle, brother to Don and Wilfred. Gerry will be greatly missed by children Carrie and Andrew, son-in-law Leo, granddaughter Jade and grandson Wesley. Predeceased by brother Patrick (2017) and remembered fondly by nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and everyone he encountered.
A skilled tradesman, Gerry used his many talents of woodworking, mechanics, music, gardening, along with his charm to entertain and befriend so very many people. Gerry loved his cars, engines, tractors and had an eye for collectables and “worldly goods” as he called them. As a hobby, Gerry would find the hidden gems and repair what some thought could not be fixed. His generosity was known by many, his kindness spread wide, and the warmth of his heart could be felt by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will follow on August 19, 2022, from 1:00 – 4:00pm at the Hanover Legion. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
Gerald was one of a kind. I used to run by his place occasionally and I'd hear him saying, hey Shelly get in her for a drink!! We'd have a drink and I laugh the whole time as he told stores and just his whitty sense of humour could make almost anyone caught.
Thinking of his family and he will be missed by his Elmwood neighbours.
Our deepest sympathies to your family. We knew Gerry a long time, from back in the old Sklar Peppler days. He was quite a character. We'll miss bumping into him around the area.

- Gilbert HaaseCondolences to the family. Luckily I was able to spend a couple of nights with ‘Doylie’ in the middle of May, on my way home from Halifax. Many deals and good times. Will forever be in my memory. Keep dealing up there, old buddy, and save me a spot!
- SAM STANGAI miss you so much already, Uncle Gerry. While I'm so deeply saddened that we never did make it to visiting in person, I will always cherish reconnecting through our online chats. You were as sweet and charming as I remember you from so many years ago. I'm sure you're already cracking jokes up there in heaven.
