Donald Peter Kroetsch, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2022, at his residence, after a lengthy battle with illness. He was 87.
Born on October 4, 1934 in Carlsruhe, Ontario, to the late Alfred and Frieda (nee Weiler) Kroetsch. Those who knew Don, knew that he never shied away from hard work. Don farmed on Highway 4 until 1987, when he then started his own business, 'Don's Carpentry and Repair'. Don was a faithful member of Holy Family Parish, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served the seniors at the long term care home by assisting them to get to Mass.
Survived by loving wife Donna (nee Whaling) Kroetsch, and children David Cooper & Tamie Cooper. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Adeillia Teclu, Larissa & Aiden Cooper, Benjamin, Matthew, Jorgen Lehman, Gabrielle Gordner, Cheylene Watson, Chantel Hopkins, cherished nephews Andrew (Linda), Paul (Chyrille), and Robert (Devin) Lehman, as well as 4 great grandchildren. Don will be missed by the Whaling family. Predeceased by his parents, and sister Zita (George) Lehman.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Parish, Hanover, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 10-10:45 am, where a Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am. Father Paul Edmondstone officiating. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
