Judith “Judy” Elaine Weech, of Hanover, passed away peacefully after many years with Multiple Sclerosis and a brief battle also with colon cancer at Chapman House Residential Hospice in Owen Sound on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was 77.
Born on October 19, 1944 in Wiarton to the late George and Mary (nee Fleming) Schenk. Judy was employed for many years with the town of Walkerton in the Municipal Office as the secretary for the planning department. She always put others before herself, even when not feeling the best. She would be there for friends and family without hesitation, just because she cared.
Loving mother of Mark (Rosemarie) Weech of Orangeville, and 'Nana' to Andrew. Fondly remembered by sisters Shirley (Hugh) Black of Rhode Island, Karen (Jack) Gordon of Hanover, and Suzanne (Randie) Crewson of Barrie, and brothers Jack (Helen) Schenk of Tobermory and George (Donna) Schenk of Kitchener, as well as many nieces and nephews and their famililes. Predeceased by her parents, sister Mary Ellen Brookshaw, and brother-in-law Paul Pettigrew.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Come and Go at the Royal Canadian Legion Hanover Branch #130, on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 1-4pm. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations to the Chapman House Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
