Martinus "Martin" Van Staveren, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital on Monday, January 31, 2022. He was 91.

Born in New Vennep, Holland, son of the late Bernardus and Helahagda (nee Birrs) Van Staveren. Martinus enjoyed country life, and raising his family on the farm. He was a hard worker, and had a deep love for his family.  He will be missed by many.

Loved by his daughter Margot (David) Hundt of RR#2 Walkerton, and son David (Laurie) Van Staveren of RR#3 Clifford. Special grandfather of Kevin (Katie), Yvonne (Mike), Keith (Hayley), Melissa, Nathan, and Kyle and great grandchildren Marie, Irene, Joseph, Laura and Isaac. Fondly remembered by his brother Dick (Corrie) Van Staveren of Toronto, sister Cornelia Vanderschot (Ted Bosma) of Georgetown, and many other brothers, sisters, and extended family from Holland. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Vera (nee Praat) in 2016, and brother-in-law Arie Vanderschot.

Visitation will be held at Holy Family Church, on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 10:30 - 11:15 am where a Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am.
