Wayne Robert Bell, age 78, passed away peacefully Monday, January 24th, 2022 surrounded by loved ones in his Elmwood residence.
Devoted husband and best friend of Eileen (nee Maltby) Bell. Doting father of late David Bell, Deborah Bell of Manitoulin Island, Jamie (Vickie) Allen of Elmwood, Wendy (Wayne) Farness of Collingwood, and Janet (David) Hanrahan of Collingwood. Special grandpa of Tanya (Rob) Oberlerchner and Stephanie Allen, and proud 'Papa' to great grandchildren Abbagail and Elijah. Fondly remembered by sister Bonnie (Jim) Mair of Teeswater.
Born January 11, 1944, to the late Russel Orville and Ada Matilda (nee Wilkinson) Bell in Wingham, Ontario. Wayne enjoyed the simple things in life, and loved spending time with family, friends and outdoors; doing odd jobs and anything from gardening and cutting grass with his John Deer to splitting firewood. Many people will remember Wayne from his years working at Kaufman's Furniture factory, TSC Overland Trucking, and Hanover Ideal Supply.
Wayne shared his passion for live theatre and entertainment as the president and organizer with both the Elmwood Seniors Group and Florida Seniors Community. Playing cards and games (keeping score and making sure no one cheated) was among many of his pastimes with the game 'Solo' being a favourite. Wayne adored his church and community. He was greatly involved, contributing his time and efforts to countless community events and meals, ensuring all who attended were fed and there was always a seat for everyone.
Wayne was a dear friend to many, and had an unwavering love for family - he will be dearly missed.
