Orval Brown, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at The Village Seniors Community, Hanover on Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was 83.
Born in Bentinck Township on September 9, 1938 to the late George and Irene (nee MacDonald) Brown. Orval lived in Bentinck Township, Kitchener, Roseville, Paisley and later moved to Hanover. He was a carpenter who built many houses in Kitchener, Stratford and New Hamburg. Orval had a passion for antique cars and especially driving them. After moving to Paisley he enjoyed his pond...a great spot for nature. He raised sheep and raced and raised standardbred horses. He was active with the Rotary Club, an avid curler, fisherman and a regular with the coffee gang. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Village for all their compassion and care towards Orval.
Survived by loving and devoted wife Betty (nee Rier) Brown, his sons Lyle (Susan) and Danny (Heather) and daughter Melodie (Gerald) Reaume. Loved grandfather of Emma and Haley. He will be remembered by his nephews Keith (Cheryl), Kevin (Anna), David Hopkins and cousin Kay Holley. Also mourning his loss are his sisters in law Sharon Johnston, Carole Rier and brothers in law Jack (Maureen) Rier, Ted (Bonnie) Rier and Randy (Lynne) Rier. Predeceased by his parents and sister Phyllis (JD) Hopkins.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
