Joan Zettler, of RR#1 Elmwood, passed away peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital on Thursday, January 6, 2022.  She was 79. 

Born in Hanover Ontario on October 29, 1942 to the late Howard and Maletta (nee Bieman) McKelvie. Joan was a kind natured woman that loved to help others. This trait would be known by others when she was working as a Nurse at both the Hanover & District Hospital and the South Bruce Grey Health Services in Walkerton. She enjoyed her flowerbeds and meticulously tended to them. When she had a little down time she enjoyed volunteering; both with Grace United Church with their various functions as well as the Food Bank. 

Survived by common law spouse Arnold Wedow of RR#1 Elmwood. Loved by her grandchildren Melissa (Pete) Rehkopf and Chuck Zettler as well as her great grandchildren Blaine Rehkopf, Davy Jr. Rehkopf and Leo Zettler. Remembered by her sister Grace Millea of Durham. She will be fondly remembered by her in laws Cyril Gregory, Don (Mary Therese) Zettler, Garry (Lois) Zettler, Brenda Zettler, Douglas (Kathy) Zettler, Brian (Mary) Zettler, Victor (Susan) Zettler, Gordon Zettler, Anita (Raymond) Waechter, Bonnie (Brian) Weber, Laurie Bushell, Elaine (Shane) Mathers, Kevin Zettler and Darren Zettler as well as their families. Predeceased by her parents Howard and Maletta McKelvie, mother in law Dorothy and father in law Lawrence Zettler, husband Ken Zettler, sons Allan and Chuck, great granddaughter Becky Rehkopf and brother in law John Millea and sister in law Carol Gregory.  

Public Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2-4pm. To attend the visitation, please call the funeral home at 519-364-3660 to book a time. All social distancing measures will be in place and wearing of a facecovering is mandatory inside the funeral home. 

 An invite-only Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11 am.
