Carl Raymond Kelsey, of Neustadt, passed away suddenly at Hanover and District Hospital on Thursday, December 16, 2021. He was 74.
Born on December 31, 1946 to the late George and Violet (nee Fletcher) Kelsey in Walkerton. Carl was the second last child born to a large family of 16. Carl learned early to work hard. He was employed with many of the furniture factories and stores around the area, spending over 25 years at Sklar Peppler and the last 10 years or so with Smitty's Fine Furniture in Hanover, before his retirement. He had a rambunctious nature to him and was always quick to help out at any function. He would often be the first to volunteer, show up and reply with "I’ll be there". Carl rarely disappointed anyone and was someone you could truly depend on. He loved sports...all kinds….from baseball, pickle ball to hockey and golf, you name it. We are all surprised that he managed to play any sport as he was never too far from his coffee cup. It was the simple things that Carl enjoyed the most and he will be missed by many.
Survived by devoted wife Brenda (nee Evers) Kelsey of Neustadt. Father of Ron Kelsey of Neustadt and Ray (Annette) Kelsey of Elmwood. Loved grandfather of Shaila. Remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families as well as special family friend Kaity. Predeceased by his parents and 6 brothers and 9 sisters.
Public visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 1-4pm. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Neustadt. Rev. Fred Ludolph officiating.
Special Thanks goes out to all the members from Neustadt Pickle Ball, Bruce County EMS, West Grey Fire Department (Neustadt), Hanover & District Hospital Emergency Room staff, as well as Dr. Abell, for all your valiant efforts and care for our family at this time.
Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church - Neustadt would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
