Mervyn Pfeffer of Hanover passed away peacefully at Saugeen Villa Saturday, September 18, 2021. He was 88 years of age.
He was the son of Charles and Ella (Mueller) Pfeffer and lived the first 26 years of his life on the family farm in Normanby Township. The family moved to Hanover in 1959 where Mervyn lived the rest of his life. For those who knew him he was a man of few words, a hard worker and reliable. Others would know him as one who walked. His vegetable garden was well kept and productive. Spring time would find him in the bush searching for fiddleheads and leeks. His watchful eyes and wee smile let you know he was present to the moment. With much appreciation and credit to the health care team at the Village Long Term Care Home, Merv settled in and was at home there the last years of his life.
He is remembered by several cousins and long time good friend David Blasing of Hanover.
A public graveside service will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Ayton on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11am.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
