Ronald "Ron" Emke, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. He was 79.
Born on June 16, 1942 in Hanover, Ontario to the late Louis and Mary (nee Noble) Emke. Ron was employed as a General Parts Manager for GM for many years. He will be remembered for his work ethic and family values. He loved to spend time outdoors with his family and made many memories at Saugeen Cedar Campground where they lived out their summer months for many years. There was always something about the water and peacefulness that drew them there.
Survived by loving wife Burnette "Nettie" (nee Hilgendorff) of Hanover. Loved father of Paul (Lynne) Lahn of Walkerton and Linda (Steve) Wettlaufer of Neustadt. Special grandfather of Joel (Amy), Danielle (Tyson), Sara (Barry), Brent (Ashley), Shayne (Lynn), Jamie (Danielle) and great grandfather of Rileigh, Tristan, Elliott, Josey, Mia and Adrianne. Fondly remembered by his brother Wayne (Eileen) Emke of Hanover and by his brother in law Gerry "Butch" Hilgendorff of Neustadt and sisters in law Joanne Hilgendorff of Hanover and Helen Hilgendorff of Neustadt. Ron will be missed by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents and brother in law Ken Hilgendorff.
