Jan “John” van der Heide, formerly of Hanover, passed away at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, on Monday, June 21, 2021. He was 80.

Born in Ternaard, Netherlands, on June 5, 1941, to the late Pieter and Betsje (nee Nauta). Loving husband of Rosemary (nee Farrow) for 56 years.  Father of Peter (Carol) of Hanover, Paul (Naomi) of Ottawa, Illinois, Mark of London, Tammy Skinner of Ojai, California, Tim (Tara) of Whitby, and Jason (Nikki) of Hamilton.   Fondly remembered by 22 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.  Dearly missed by brother Klaas (Betty Jane) of Hanover, and sister Ietsje (Bev) Neil of Tara.  Predeceased by son in-law Larry Skinner, and brothers Hessel and Henry.

To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
