Gladys Reva Martin, of Hanover, passed away at Grey-Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Thursday, June 17, 2021. She was 85.

Born in Derby Township to the late Merton and Rheta (nee Mooney) Barfoot on August 12, 1935.  Many people will remember Gladys from her years of working alongside her husband Gord at their business Gord’s Small Engines in Carlsruhe. 

Loving mother of Tony (Jenny) Martin of Neustadt and Tammy (Frank) Pletch of Carlsruhe. Cherished Grandma of Kailey (Ben) Diebel, Karissa Kennedy (Jason), Jordan Pletch, Janessa Pletch, Randi Ricketts, and Cassidy Martin. Great Grandma of Maverick Diebel. Gladys will be missed by sisters Darlene (Ray) Bateman of Mississauga, Carolyn (Larry) England of Ottawa, and Elaine (Bill) Pate of Burlington, sister in-law Ileen Barfoot of Owen Sound, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Martin, parents Merton and Rheta (nee Mooney) Barfoot, and brothers Ken Barfoot, Lorne (Betty) Barfoot, Bill Barfoot.

Cremation has taken place. A Private Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Desboro Cemetery. Rev Charmila Ireland officiating.

Memorial donations to the GBHS Palliative Care or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
