Mildred "Muriel" McRitchie, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Elgin Abbey Nursing Home in Chesley on Sunday, April 18, 2021. She was 84.
Born in Brant Township on September 12, 1936 to the late Roy and Velma (nee McCague) McRitchie. Muriel enjoyed living on the farm with her brother Oliver and was a hard working woman. After the death of Oliver, she remained on the farm until her health declined and made a decision to move in with her nephew, Ray. Once it became too much for Ray to handle, she made the move to Elgin Abbey, where the family was surprised to see her health improve. She will be remembered by many residents and Staff at Elgin Abbey in Chesley.
Survived by loving nephew Ray (Wanda) Strickland of Hanover as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents, brothers Bruce (Ruth) McRitchie, Oliver McRitchie and Margaret "Fern" (Chesley) Strickland.
Cremation has taken place with a Private Family inurnment at Crispin Cemetery, Hanover. A Celebration of Life will be held at a time when it is safe to do so.
Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association or to the Cancer Society were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
