Willard Milton Rehkopf, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, on Monday, April 5, 2021, in his 92nd year.
Born on December 13, 1929, in Normanby Township to the late Daniel and Rose (nee Nicolai) Rehkopf. Willard married the love of his life, Eileen Allensen, in November of 1953, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Neustadt. Willard was a dedicated family man, and together with Eileen they enjoyed raising their family and all the wonderful memories made over 68 years of marriage. Willard and Eileen started life together farming 150 acres in Normanby, before selling in 1975 and moving to Hanover. Willard was a man of many skills and talents, working in several different trades over many years, from working as a labourer with Fleming Construction, to building furniture at Sklar Peppler, to woodworking and carpentry as a side hobby as well. He was a kind and fun loving man, forming many great friendships with many people over the years - he will be greatly missed.
Survived by loving wife of 68 years, Eileen Rehkopf. Dear father of Darrell (Anne) Rehkopf of RR1 Hanover, Larry (Marilyn Williams) Rehkopf of Hanover, and Darlene (Brad) Horst of Allan Park. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Daniel (Sarah) Rehkopf, Katie (Josh) Zacharias, Jason Williams, and Alina Rehkopf and Chantel Rehkopf (Dan), and great grandchildren Atalan, Camille, Lilah, Isabella, and Audrey. Predeceased by daughter Sheila Strader, and brothers Hiram and Aaron Rehkopf.
A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 11 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Neustadt. Interment to follow in Hanover Cemetery.
