Gwendolyn "Gwen"  Johnston (nee Dennie), of Hanover, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister,  passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021. She was 65. 

A kind, gentle soul who put the care of others above all else, Gwen was born Gwendolyn Louise Dennie in 1955 in Walkerton, Ontario to the late Bill and Shirley (nee Sockett) Dennie. Being the eldest of five children, some of Gwen's earliest and fondest memories were caring for and playing with her siblings. Her caring and kind nature evolved into a career in Nursing which spanned over 40 years, where she made many lifelong friendships. She met her beloved husband Fred in Hanover and they were married in 1977. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her. 

Loving mother of Krista Johnston (Todd) of Creemore and Scott (Jen) Johnston of Kitchener. She will be missed by her two adoring granddaughters Sawyer and Shay, who loved to play hide and seek with their Grandma "Wen". Fondly remembered by her siblings Pam (Ron) Schumacher, Frank Dennie, Jim (Marlene) Dennie and Rob Dennie all of Walkerton. She will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her beloved husband Fred Johnston. 

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 2-4 pm. As per COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a maximum of 40 people in the facility at any one given time. Masks and Social Distancing rules must be adhered to. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover. 

Memorial donations to the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce - South Build or to the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Walkerton would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
