Joseph Grove passed away suddenly at Hanover & District Hospital, to be with his Lord and Saviour on February 9, 2021, at the age of 87.
Joseph was born in Markham Township in Ontario on February 5, 1934 to the late John and Ada (nee Hoover) Grove. He farmed on the 8th of Brant until retiring. After attending Eastern Mennonite College, he met his future wife, Betty (nee Schultz) and began their life together on September 11, 1957 at Poole Mennonite Church. AS their love grew, so did their family and they were blessed with four wonderful children. He was an avid stamp collector and always enjoyed collecting all the unique stamps. He and his wife Betty were faithful members of the Hanover Mennonite Church and will be missed by their church family.
Loved father of Deborah Grove-Zigler of Kitchener, Stephen (JoAnn) of Duchess, Alberta, and Philip (Denise) and Mark (Louise) both of Durham. Dearly missed by his grandchildren Matthew (Kara), Michael (Erin), Kyle, Shannon (Colton), Jasen, Marnie (Aaron), Clara (Rod), Jamie (Chad), 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandsons. Fondly remembered by his brother, Lorne (Hazel) Grove of Stouffville and sisters Frances Grove of Cambridge and Ruth Fockler of Stouffville. Predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Schultz), brother Paul Grove and brother in law Roy Fockler.
Due to the provincial restrictions and gathering limitations a Memorial Visitation and Service will be held when it is safer to do so. Inurnment in Hanover Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Kidney Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
