John Patrick "Pat" McCrodan, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, January 22, 2021. He was 82.
Born in Belleville, Ontario on July 25, 1938 to the late John and Madeline (nee Gaffney) McCrodan. Better known to everyone as Pat, he was employed as a Truck Driver. He loved his job, family and friends. Always up for a good time to make memories and live life to the fullest, Pat was an adventurous man with a love for travel, scuba diving, snorkeling, aviation and Barbados, where he found his love for Mount Gay Rum.
Survived by loving and devoted wife of over 25 years, Diane (nee MacKinnon) McCrodan of Hanover. Loved father of Michael McCrodan of Verner, Leigh McCrodan of Fergus and Stephen (Heather) McCrodan of Nova Scotia. Pat will always have a special place in the hearts of Diane's children: Beverley (Brian) Granger of Niagara, Lyn (Brian) Dewar of Innisfil and Melissa Dolson of Chesley. Special son-in-law of Edith MacKinnon of Owen Sound. Pat was the grandpa that would cheer you on and be your number one fan, and always leave time for you. Remembered by his grandchildren Stacey (Cody), Teddy, Kevin (Katie), Curtis, Chance, Ben and great grandchildren Lillian, Jameson and Maxine. Fondly remembered by his brother Brian (Pat) McCrodan of Peterborough and sister Carol Harnden of Burlington as well as his nieces, nephews and their families.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when we can all gather on the dance floor and share a bottle of Mount Gay Rum and dance to Hot, Hot, Hot.
Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
