James Herbert Windross, of Hanover, passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Durham, on Thursday, September 24, 2020. He was 73.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on August 25th, 1947, to the late Jack and Evelyn (nee Dewey) Windross. Jim worked a long and fulfilling career with Eveready in Walkerton, retiring just a few years ago. Jim was a quiet man, but he adored his family and loved spending quality time with them. In his spare time, you would often find him out on the golf course with friends, and he enjoyed many years playing hockey in the local old-timers league, with his team from Ayton.
Survived by devoted wife Nancy (nee Dix) of Hanover. Father of David (Michelle) of Caledon, and Brian of Chesley. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Julia, Katie, Ethan, and Mason, and nieces and nephews Patricia, Bill, John, Cheryl, Michael, and Leeann. Predeceased by his parents, and twin brother Jack.
Public visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday, September 28th, from 6-8 pm, where a Family Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th, 2020 at 11 am. Pastor Lyndsay McGregor officiating. Inurnment in Hanover Cemetery. As per the provincial regulations and COVID-19 restrictions, all visitors are requested to wear a mask when inside the funeral home. The maximum number allowed in the funeral home at any one time is 40 people including immediate family. All social distancing measures will be taken.
