It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Beninger in her 64th year on March 6, 2020.
Barb was born on May 4, 1956 in the Walkerton Hospital to the late Eugene and Viola (nee Voisin) Benninger. Barb was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by family and many friends. We were all lucky to have had her in our lives.
Survived by common law spouse Andrew MacKinnon of Hanover. Dearly loved mother of Carrie Beninger (Bartec) and son Curtis Beninger. Loved by her mother in law Elsie (and the late Al) MacKinnon. Barb will be remembered by her step children Tyler (Amy) and Shelby (Mike). She will be missed by her grandbabies Dylan Kliest, Alysa Sproul Beninger, Malakhi and Cayden MacKinnon. Dear sister of Donny (Ann) Benninger, Brian (Deb) Benninger, Roger (Deb) Benninger, Dale Benninger, Paula (Brian) Alton, Cindy Benninger (Brian Horrigan), Bruce MacKinnon, Doug MacKinnon, Glen (Jane) MacKinnon and Cathy (David) Smith. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Gary Beninger, sister Sheila Girodat and nephews Kent and Shawn Benninger, Mike Alton and step father Wilbur Beninger.
Family and friends are invited to an outdoor Celebration of Life Come and Go at Barb's residence (296-9th Street, Hanover) on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 1-5 pm. There will be a time of sharing memories and speeches at 2:30 pm. The family invites you to please be casual and feel free to bring your own chair and beverages.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority would be appreciated by the family. Please be advised that due to current COVID restrictions, that people are asked to adhere to social distancing requirements as well as the wearing of face masks if you have a compromised immune system. There will be hand sanitizing station available on site. Please note that you will be required to provide your name and contact information upon arrival.
