Royal "Roy" Ludger Mayhew, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at his residence in Hanover, on Monday, June 29th, 2020, in his 89th year.
Born on June 30th, 1931, in Pontiac County, Quebec, to Malcolm and Eva (nee Dagenais) Mayhew. Roy was proud of his career spent working as a crane operator for Ontario Hydro. Roy was even more proud of his family that was the light of his life. He was also a long standing and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Survived by loving wife Frances (nee Roy) of Hanover. Dearly missed by daughters Judy (Jean) Marchand of Newcastle, Marilyn (Larry) Rehkopf of Hanover, Linda Mayhew of Kincardine, and Lorna Mayhew of Red Deer, A.B., and sons Glenn (Heather Anderson) of High River, A.B., Lee (Michele Young) of St. Catherines, Mark (Christine Becker) of New Hamburg, and Paul of Kincardine. Fondly remembered by 19 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Also remembered by his sister Yvonne Mayhew of Victoria, B.C., as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Edgar, Simon, Raymond, and Rodolphe, and sisters Cora and Jeanette.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
