Donald (Don) Howard Price, 72, of Guelph, Ontario, passed away while enjoying himself on his farm near Clifford, Ontario on May 23, 2020.
Don loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and canoeing. A lifelong learner with three university degrees in biology, ornithology and computer science, he shared his knowledge and expertise freely and relentlessly pursued the exceptional in everything he did. He applied his incredible work ethic to each of his varied career paths, always focusing on doing the right things, the right way, for the right reasons. He selflessly supported his children’s many interests, often prioritizing their success above his own. In doing so, he became a soccer coach, a track and field coach, an acting coach, a hunting and fishing guide, a bird carver, a photographer and a canoe builder. A kind, generous and empathetic man, he could carry on a conversation with anyone, and cared deeply about helping people he cared about to solve their most important problems.
Don is survived by his sons Scott Price (Sarah Hadley) of Waterloo, Graham (Kristy) Price of Guelph, and Dean (Dr. Nikki) Price of Canfield, and grandchildren Aiden, Cole, Grayson, Jordan, Ava and Brody. Married for many wonderful years to Jean (nee Francis) Price. Also survived by his brother Glenn (Adrienne) Price of Bradford and niece Corinne Price of Orillia. Predeceased by his parents, Howard Frederick and Helen Violet (nee Malton) Price.
