James Lorne Edwards, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Monday, April 20, 2020. He was 80.
Born in Brantford on January 18, 1940. James was the son of the late Lorne and Veronica (nee Derusha) Edwards. He enjoyed maintenance and was a helping hand around HARC Industries. Jim was not a talkative man but will be remembered for his contagious smile and for greeting all that knew him with a warm handshake and love. Jim was a world traveller and loved travelling with his best friend June Johnson until their final years together. Jim lived independently with support of Community Living Hanover (HARC Inc) until 2017 when he moved to the Hanover Care Centre, where he received excellent quality care and developed lasting friendships with his Care Providers and fellow Residents.
Jim will be fondly remembered by his dear friends Donna and Morris Haley of Guelph and their family. Jim will be missed very much by his friends, and family of support workers in which he developed close and lasting relationships through his 30 years at Community Living Hanover (HARC Inc).
Predeceased by his parents and special friends June Johnson and Ron Land. A private burial has taken place in Durham Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations to the HARC Industries were appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca
