On March 14, 2018, Irene Janes, (nee Whalley), a strong, intelligent and loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, aunt and friend passed away in Guelph, Ontario. Even though she didn’t stand much more than four feet, six inches tall, she had the heart of a giant.  The love she had for her family, friends, and let’s not forget any stray dog she came into contact with, was boundless and unconditional.

Pre-deceased by her husband, Clarence Arthur (Art) Janes, her parents Alice and Harold Whalley, and all of her in-laws, she was the last of her generation in her immediate family. She immigrated to Canada as a war-bride after meeting and marrying Art while he was stationed in England during WWII.  They shared over 63 years together prior to his passing in 2008. Irene exceeded any goal she set as a mother to Rick (Lenore) and Sandi (Ed), and excelled at being a Grandmother. She will be profoundly missed.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Mighton Funeral Home in (123-10^th Street, Hanover) on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1-4 pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11 am. Inurnment in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.
