Mildred Marie Crawford, of Hanover, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Chapman House in Owen Sound on Monday, December 30, 2019. She was 93.
Born on June 26, 1926 to the late Ephraim and Gladys (nee Crawford) Grant in Arran Township. Affectionately called Millie, she had a gentleness about her to complement her bright warm smile. Millie was often seen with her husband and soul-mate Bob, beside her. In her earlier years she embarked on her career as a teacher and taught in Arran Township, Milton, Preston, Kenora and Brampton. She and Bob were devoted to their faith and were active, faithful members at the Hanover Missionary Church. They both gave their time and love to many church activities as well as to missionary work.
Survived by children Thomas (Teresa) Crawford of Meaford, Susan (Ike) Morinaga of Oakton, Virginia, USA, John (Dagmar) Crawford of Goderich, Luanne (Richard) Hill of Winnipeg and Catharine Crawford (John Thompson) of Port Elgin. Much loved grandmother of 13 and 5 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Marion Grant of Port Elgin, nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her beloved husband Robert "Bob" Crawford, sisters Helen Grant, Margaret Markie and brothers Lloyd Grant and Jack Grant.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at the Hanover Missionary Church on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 11:00 am with a time of visitation and reception to follow. A private inurnment at the Hanover Cemetery will follow at a later date.
