Joanna Allen, of Hanover, was granted peace and eternal comfort on Sunday, September 29, 2019 in her 94th year. Born in Copsa Mare, Romania, on November 11, 1925, to the late John and Rosina (nee Benn) Konnerth. Joanna always enjoyed spending time with her family, her true passion. She enjoyed her spare time spent with the Hanover Seniors, and Lawn Bowlers groups. She spent many years working self employed as a hair dresser, and shared many laughs and great conversations with her clients.
Loved mother of Judy (Herb) Murphy of London, Douglas (Wendy) Allen of Port Elgin, Sherry (Eric) Hallman of Hanover, and Joanne (Orest) Poluch of Guelph. Dearly missed by grandchildren Stephanie Hocking (Jack Macdonnell), Michelle (Ken) Feddema, Jason (Alyce) Allen, Ericka (Kevin) McKinnon, Alanda (Corey) Lantz, Sada (Sean) Bryant, and Tatiana Poluch. Bringing sunshine and smiles to Joanna were her many wonderful great grandchildren, Ashley Graham (Andrew), Taylor Magwood, Josh Macdonnell, Nolan and Eva Feddema, Hazel Allen, Madeline, Colton and Emily McKinnon, Kaylee and Ashlynn Lantz, and Kye and Callan Bryant. Fondly remembered by her siblings in the Allen family, and special friends Susan and Brian Sakal, Norma Ruhl, and Wally and Glenda Ellig. Predeceased by her 1st husband Stuart Allen, 2nd husband Harry Allen, great grandson Cody Bryant, and sisters Rosina (Gordon) Allen, Regina (Hugh) Lynett, and Agnes (Douglas) Fry of Hanover.
Visitation at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, from 10 am until time of a Funeral Service at 12 noon. Rev. John Polacok officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
Memorial donations to the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation or to St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
