Barry Howard Baker, of Hanover, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, at Chapman House in Owen Sound on Monday, August 05, 2019. He was 86.
Born on February 11, 1933 in London, England to the late George and Eleanor (nee Hollingshead) Baker. Barry was in Marketing with Air Canada until his retirement. He continued to remain active by managing the Côte St. Luc Tennis Club in Montreal for 9 years.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years Melanie (nee Waterman) in 2018. He is survived by his devoted daughters Angela Baker-MacLeod (Alex) of Ottawa and Linda (Jim) Murray of Chesley. Dear brother of Patricia Batchelor of Southampton, England. Loved Uncle of Karen (Mick) Metcalfe and Clive (Rachel) Batchelor and their children Samuel, Grace and Harry all of Birmingham, England. Fondly remembered by his Sister-in Law Pamela Hildyard and nephews Lance and Mark Hildyard and Mark’s children Evie Rose and Beren; and Sister-in-Law Priscilla Waterman, niece Lee Reeves and her children Brittany and Michael, all of Johannesburg, South Africa.
To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. A family Memorial gathering at the Columbarium in the Hanover Cemetery will take place on Monday, September 16, 2019. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
