Daryl Mawhinney, of Hanover, passed away after a courageous battle at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Saturday, May 4, 2019. He was 55.

Born in Walkerton, on August 19, 1963, son of Ronald and Monique (Savard) Mawhinney. Daryl was a sales manager with Rideau Pipe and Drilling. Daryl loved the motto "Family First", and he lived that way with love and open arms. Even with family being the most important thing to him he loved his trucks and toys. Frequently hitting the road with his Harley and his 52 Mercury Truck, he loved the freedom it gave him.

Survived by children Brittany Mawhinney, Darren Mawhinney (Jen Meyer) both of Walkerton, Erica Mawhinney (fiancee Ben Boyce) of Owen Sound and Alicia Mawhinney (Philip Jamieson) of Hanover and their mother Darlene Mawhinney of Hanover. Loved son of Ronald and Monique (nee Savard) of Hanover. Dear brother of Brenda Goetz (Mike Widmeyer) of Hanover and Mark Mawhinney of Gorrie. Remembered by nieces and nephews Shannon, Megan (Adam) and daughter Charlotte, Kyle (Sadie) and their children Mason and Jase, Isaiah, Noodin and Joey Mawhinney. Also survived by his beloved girlfriend Joni Graham of Owen Sound and her children Kevin (Jen) Graham of Hanover, Tim Graham of Maxwell, grandchildren Nixon, Jaxon, Summer and Jason Graham. Daryl loved his "granddogs" Zoe and Rimmer and enjoyed spending time with them when they visited.

A private family Graveside Service will be held. Interment in McIntosh United Cemetery.

The family would like to acknowledge the great care and support recieved at both the Hanover & District Hospital and the Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound and if so desired, memorial donations may be made to the foundations. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
