Lavina ‘Trudy’ Weltz (nee Weidendorf), formerly of Hanover, passed away at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, in her 98th year.
Born in Bentinck Township on August 23, 1921, to the late John and Katherine (nee Schultz) Weidendorf. Lavina also known to many as Trudy, enjoyed her career operating Norms Restaurant in Hanover, along side her husband Norm. She will be remembered for many conversations over cups of coffee and truly loved all her clientele. Trudy was also a former member of the Hanover Legion Branch #130 Ladies Auxillary, and the St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church Women.
Survived by son Ross (Linda) Weltz. Loved grandmother of Dieter (Melissa), Derrick (Jenn) and Dylan, and great grandmother of Owen, Lyla, and Kolby. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her beloved husband Norman, and siblings Carrie (Valentine) Kaufman, Herman (Martha) Weidendorf, Bertha Weiderdorf, Walter (Sylvia) Weidendorf, Paul (Jean) Weidendorf, Millie (Ed) Ahrens, and Clara (Clemens) Pfeffer.
Visitation will be held at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover, on Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 10 am, until the time of a Funeral Service at 11 am. Rev. Darlene Rath officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.
