Marilyn Mellish, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. She was 81.
Born in Toronto, daughter of the late Stanley and Grace (nee Martin) Dollman. Marilyn was employed as a court clerk with the Ministry of Attorney General until retiring. She was a devoted member of the Hanover Baptist Church and will be remembered by her church family as well as many ladies from the Red Hat Society.
Survived by children Thomas (Catherine) Mellish of Oakville, Dorothy Anne (Peter) Raptis of Kincardine, Charlene (Kevin) Karl and Tim (Nancy) Mellish both of Hanover. Remembered by her foster children Robert D'Auvernay, Tim Dudley, Simon Dudley and their families. Loved grandmother of Craig (Ashley) Karl, Marilyn Raptis, Natasha (Adam) Chalmers, Krystal Karl, Courtney Mellish and great granddaughters Aubrey and Evelyn. Fondly remembered by her brother David Hopkins of Tweed. Marilyn will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her beloved husband Wellington, son James William, foster son Paul D'Auvernay, sisters Dorothy Dollman and Rosemary Dornor.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm, at Hanover Baptist Church. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association, Cancer Society or Hanover & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
