Wayne Ivan Petty, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. He was 73.

Born in Durham on October 24, 1944 to the late John and Elva (nee Noble) Petty. Wayne farmed on the family farm with his brother Ross until 1972. He sold the farm and moved to Hanover and was employed as a Furniture Finisher with Peppler's Furniture until his retirement. He enjoyed volunteering with the Food Bank and enjoyed helping others. He was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Hanover.

Missed and always remembered by his special friends Barry Pegelo, Florence Alexander, Tammy Ahrens, Debra Pegelo, Ruth Wright, Doreen and Ken Weber. Predeceased by parents John and Elva (Noble) Petty and a brother Ross Petty.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 7-9 pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 am. Spring Interment in Durham Cemetery, Durham.

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
