Ignaz "Bill" Feichtinger

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of their steadfast patriarch Bill on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Hanover & District Hospital. He had just celebrated his 90th birthday.

Bill is predeceased by his dear wife Anna (Gerold), and leaves his children, daughter, Monika (Heinz) Sautner of Austria, son Joseph Feichtinger (Patricia Woytko) of Winnipeg, MB, son Rudi Feichtinger of Hanover, and daughter Helga (Robert) Braun of Duncan, BC.  Bill was grandfather to 7 beloved grandchildren, Bernard, Linda, Sylvia, Benjamin, William, Joseph, Abigail and 2 great grandchildren Patricia and Alexander. Bill was born in the province of Burgenland, Austria with 9 other siblings.

His lifelong passion in flour milling began at age 14 in his native Austria.  Bill immigrated to Winnipeg, MB in 1953 and sought employment with Soo-Line Mills and Maple Leaf Milling where he became head miller and career member of the Association of Operative Millers.  Knechtel Milling Ltd. (now P&H Milling Group Ltd.) of Hanover sought his employment in 1972  as head miller and provided the challenge for him in Hanover.  He readily accepted the responsibility of milling operations and provided the leadership necessary for the state-of-the-art flour milling operation that exist today.  He will be greatly missed.
